Cuprite – Tsumeb Mine, Otavi Mountains, Namibia

 Numerous undamaged, intensely metallic-lustrous, rhombic dodecahedral cuprite crystals comprise this historic and beautifully prepared specimen from the Tsumeb Mine in Namibia. In transmitted light, it displays an intense red color.
 The wonderfully intact specimen was sold at the crystal geode as early as 1989.
