Calcite - Fengjiashan Mine  (Daye Copper Mine) Huangshi Prefecture, China
  
 These mushroom-like calcites (pagodas) were found in Hubei in 2005 and caused a great stir in the mineral world at the time. The calcite crystals are colored red on some surfaces by inclusions of hematite. which gives a nice contrast. 
 In this beautiful piece, the calcite sits on a dark hematite crust, creating a unique contrast. Great display piece of this modern classic.
