Outstanding piece of a classic from Arkansas: Calcite on pink dolomite.
The superb double-terminated scalenohedral calcite has a perfect luster and is wonderfully transparent. It is of such gem quality that one can see a white central phantom and chalcopyrite crystals floating in the calcite.

The calcite sits on a matrix of lustrous, sinuous pink dolomite crystals.
The quarries in this area are known for their pink colored dolomite specimens and when found in combination with high quality calcite crystals they become real treasures.
