Aragonite - Kamariza, Lavrion, Athens, Attica, Greece
Rare specimen with spearhead-like, bluish aragonite. Due to the influence of copper minerals, the aragonite sometimes takes on a bluish color. Malachite can be partially found on the matrix of this 7.7 cm x 6.7 cm specimen. In the mining area of Lavrion south of Athens, lead and silver ores were recovered 5,000 years ago. Today the tunnels are no longer allowed to be entered.
