Quartz scepter cluster - Grieswies, Rauris, Austria
The 14 cm cluster is covered with quartz crystals and partly with calcite. The largest crystal is a scepter 5.5 cm in length.
The Rauris is known for its diverse quartz finds. Almost all deposits are in the core zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park. For some years now, collecting minerals has only been possible here with a special permit. Because of this, minerals from the Rauris are rarely offered. The quartz specimen comes from the collection of Josef Kolb, who has been searching for minerals there regularly since the 1970s.
