Bergkristall – Grieswies, Rauris, Salzburg, Austria
Ex Collection Josef Kolb
A rare collector's item from Rauris. A huge museum-quality specimen from the famous Josef Kolb collection in Rauris. This specimen, approximately 21 cm high, impresses with the clarity, number, and typical Ticino habit of its quartz crystals!
The Rauris region is known for its diverse rock crystal finds. Virtually all deposits are located in the core zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park. For several years now, mineral collecting here has only been permitted with a special permit. As a result, minerals from the Rauris are rarely offered for sale. This particular rock crystal comes from the collection of Josef Kolb, who regularly searched for minerals there since the 1970s.
