Double terminated Quartz – Val d'Illiez, Valais, Switzerland 
 
Matrix pieces from the Val d'Illiez in the Swiss canton of Valais are extremely rare. This aesthetically collector's piece consists of an undamaged, slightly dissolved double-terminated quartz with a yellow-orange layer of limonite. The rock crystal shows a clear, sharp-edged crystal shape and some areas showing an etching which leads to interesting surface structures.
