Skeletonized quartz – "Splittersandkluft", Lago San Giacomo, Cavagnoli, Ticino, Switzerland

Remarkably large and flawless rock crystal from the so-called "Splittersandkluft" at Lago San Giocomo. The water-clear crystal was found in September 2022. A special feature of this crystal is the undamaged double point.
What is particularly noteworthy is the beautiful symmetry in which three sides are mirror-smooth, while the remaining three prism surfaces are decorated with disk-shaped, skeletonized negative forms of siderite.
