Quartz - Grieswies, Rauriser Valley, Salzburg, Austria
Floater specimen crystallized all around with clear quartz crystals. Most of the crystals are double-terminated. A 3.4 cm large crystal stands out from the rest of the crystals, thanks to the perfect clarity, a cotton-wool-like inclusion can be clearly seen.
The Rauris is known for its diverse quartz crystal finds. Almost all deposits are located in the core zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park. For some years now, collecting minerals has only been possible here with a special permit. Because of this, minerals from the Rauris are rarely offered. This quartz cluster comes from the Josef Kolb collection, who has been looking for minerals there regularly since the 1970s.
