Rock crystal with byssolite - Glacier du Miage, Monte Bianco, Italy
 
Water-clear, flawless, high-gloss rock crystal with the typical Miage green byssolite inclusions. The crystal is crystallized as a double terminated quartz.
Since mineral collecting is forbidden on the Italian side of Mont Blanc, finds from this region are extremely rarely offered. Rock crystals with byssolite inclusions are characteristic of this site. 
The find area is extremely difficult to access and in extremely alpine terrain at an altitude of about 3,600 meters.
