Quartz double terminated - Göschener Alp, Uri, Switzerland
 
Nice double-terminated quartz from the Göschener Alp. The crystal is slightly smoky and clear. The pyramid faces are chloritized, which gives the crystal a special three-dimensionality. The Göschener Alp in the Swiss canton of Uri is known for breathtaking quartz and fluorite finds.
 Under adventurous conditions, the crystals are recovered from the so called "Strahlers" at an altitude of approx. 3,000 meters.
