Barite on Calcite - Elk Creek, Dalzell, Meade Co., South Dakota, USA
 
 Honey/amber colored barites ("godbarites") on yellow calcite from Elk Creek are distinctive and very popular in the mineral market. This characteristic specimen is studded with an undamaged barite of 2.8 cm size of best quality and lustre. The Chrystal is perfectly transparent and shows the characteristic color gradient from colorless to intense amber. Nice collector's item from an American classic.
