Axinite on calcite – Puiva, Saranpaul, Berezovo, Russia

The sharp-edged, highly lustrous axinite crystals protrude from the calcite matrix like razor blades. The transparent, intensely colored and undamaged axinites have grown aesthetically on a calcite crystal.
Only extremely rarely are richly decorated specimens with crystals of this size recovered in such a flawless condition.
