Aragonite Var. Zeiringite – Oberzeiring, Styria, Austria
Zeiringite is a blue variety of the mineral aragonite, which occurs as a sinter formation near copper deposits. Microscopic inclusions of aurichalcite color the aragonite in various shades of blue and create a silky sheen (otherwise unusual for aragonite), which is clearly visible in this collector's piece.
Rare showcase piece from the type locality from 1975.
