Aragonite – Kamaritsa, Lavrion, Athens, Attica, Greece

Rare specimen with spearhead-like, bluish aragonite. The influence of copper minerals gives the aragonite a bluish color. Lead and silver ores were mined in the Lavrion mining area south of Athens 5,000 years ago. Today the mine is closed. Collection specimens like these are therefore only found in old collections and therefore rarely come onto the market.
