Amethyst Scepter – Mapatizya, Kalomo Distr., Southern Prov. Zambia 
 
This scepter quartz shows in a wonderful way how diverse quartz can be. It is a double-terminated milky quartz with a scepter formation of water-clear rock crystal with zones of intense amethyst and smoky quartz, phantoms and hematite inclusions. The surface is both smooth and, as is typical for amethysts, slightly dissolved and therefore uneven. This crystal has a very good luster and top quality all around. Even the milky quartz is transparent.
A collection piece with a lot to discover. More than “just” a quartz!
