Amethyst (enveloping pseudomorph) - Minas Gerais, Brazil

 An interesting amethyst from Brazil! When viewing the slightly lilac-colored amethyst specimen from above or below, a triangular tunnel can be seen running through the entire specimen. Originally, a calcite crystal grew here; the amethysts formed on its shaft, and the calcite was later dissolved...a classic case of encapsulation pseudomorphism!
